Devin Haney calls Rolly Romero “Sorry as fuck”

WBC lightweight champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (25-0, 15ko) decided to go on social media and went ham when asked by fans to fight Interim WBA titlist Rolando “Rolly” Romero (12-0, 10ko).

Now, this all started when the WBC champion leaked a video of a sparring session he had with the Interim titlist. Of course, it was nothing but a highlight reel of Haney looking dominant as the superior fighter.

It was so bad that even the face of Women’s boxing Claressa “T-rex” Shields wanted to know who the other fighter was, asking “Damn who you sparring lol”.

THE BACKSTORY

Okay, now this is not the first time these two men have gone after each other. Back on August 15, Romero would get a gift decision victory over then-undefeated Dominican fighter Jackson “El Fenix” Marinez (19-1, 7ko). It was a decision that had the boxing community asking what fight the judges were watching. Moreover, other fighters in the division clowned for the performance. Haney would tweet immediately following the fight, calling it a “Bank robbery.”

Romero obviously stored all this inside his memory banks, and could not wait to return the favor. Well, he would not have to wait long. When it was announced that Haney was going to make a title defense against former unified featherweight champion Yuriorkis Gamboa (30-4, 18ko), the news did not fare well with boxing fans.

Furthermore, Gamboa was coming off having Achilles surgery in a loss to two-divisional power puncher Gervonta “Tank” Davis. Moreover, the 38-year-old Cuban fighter is way past his prime. The WBC champion dominated the fight, but got criticized for the fight going the distance.

Yep, you guessed it, Romero took to social media and clowned the WBC champion’s performance, calling it “The worst fight of the fucking year”. He even accused his rival of being “scared of an old ass man”.

THE HARD CLAP BACK

Okay, so fast forward to today, and these two are still going at it. However, this time Haney did not pull any punches on the Interim WBA titlist.

“Do y’all really want me to fight sorry ass Rolly? Like he fucking sucks bro. He lost his last fight, first of all. He didn’t win, he lost.”

This next statement is where the WBC champion really hit where it hurt, as he brought into question Romero’s undefeated record.

“The bitch really supposed to be 11-1 first of all. If we ever fight, when they announce him, they got to say his loss, or I am not fighting him. The nigga sorry as fuck! If I fight him, it will be an easy fight.”
