Frank Martin Calls Out Devin Haney After Impressive Victory Over Romero Duno
The lightweight division is deep with talented young fighters looking to make a mark in the sport. Rising prospect Frank “The Ghost” Martin (15-0, 11ko) is climbing the ranks like a comet under the watchful eye of trainer Derrick James. Moreover, he wants to fight any top-five divisional fighter, including WBC champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (27-0, 15ko).
Martin was on fire in 2021 with two big wins in step-up fights against undefeated Jerry “The Joker” Perez and Ryan Kielczweski. He demolished Perez with punishing left hooks before finally ending the battle in the seventh round. The Ghost put his boxing skills on full display against Kielczweski by proving he is not just a one-trick pony. He dominated the fight on all three judges’ scorecards.

Looking to kick things off on the right foot in 2022, he took on “Ruthless” Romero Duno on the undercard of heavyweights Luis Ortiz and Charles Martin’s Pay-Per-View.
MAKING A STATEMENT
Unified welterweight champion Errol “The Truth” Spence, also trained by James, reminded the fans that Martin’s fight was worthy of our attention
Well, The Ghost did not disappoint as he was razor-sharp in the Duno fight. He landed two and three-punch combinations effortlessly, before dropping Duno with a picture-perfect left hook counter. Ruthless would get back up, only to be flattened again by the same punch. The corner had finally seen enough as they stopped the fight in the fourth round. Martin is ranked #13 by the WBA, and groomed for something big as the year progresses.
