Tyson Fury Sends Agit Kabayel a contract
When WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson “The Gypsy” King Fury (30-0-1, 21 KO’s) said he wanted to fight in December, it was not merely bluster. Fury had grown tired of waiting on the rematch with Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder (42-1-1, 41 KO’s). Several dates had been set only to be later postponed.
Now, Team Fury has identified Agit Kabayel (20-0, 13 KO’s) as their next targeted opponent and have sent him a contract. The new development was revealed by the Gypsy King’s co-promoter, Frank Warren, during an interview with Talksport.
SIGN NOW OR NEVER!
To American audiences, the undefeated Kabayel is a rather unknown commodity. This is due to the majority of his prizefights being waged in his native Germany. He has fought outside of his homeland a handful of times; however his fight with Fury will be the first in the US.
Despite his lack of notoriety in America, Kabayel has certainly managed to catch the eye of the sanctioning bodies. Both the WBO and WBC have him ranked #15, while he is the IBF’s # 9 and the WBA’s #8 heavyweight in the world. It will be interesting to see how he performs against the Gypsy King provided the bout comes to fruition. Even though Team Fury has their eye on Kabayel, they are letting it be known there is a time limit and the clock is ticking.
The last time that Fury fought an unknown foreign fighter, Otto Wallin, he nearly met disaster. So if anyone is taking the bout seriously, it is definitely Fury!
“Tyson’s fighting on December 5. We’re giving the guy we want to fight, which is Kabayel, we’re giving him 24 hours now to sign the contract or we’re going to move on. He’s undefeated and has a win on his record over Derek Chisora. He [was] the European champion and he’s ranked by the WBC. That’s who’s sitting at the moment on a contract and we’re waiting. He’s got about 24 hours now to make his mind up to sign it and send it back or we’ll move on. He’s the fight, subject to the contract being signed.”
