Gorman bounces back after first career defeat to Dubois decisions Lartey
Former unbeaten heavyweight prospect Nathan Gorman (17-1, 11KOs) bounced back with a unanimous decision victory over Richard Lartey (14-3, 11KOs) over ten rounds. He suffered his first career defeat via 5th round knockout by Daniel Dubois (15-0, 14KOs) in July of 2019.
Gorman, who did not appear to be in tiptop shape, utilized his jab to set the tempo of the fight. He would jab and throw right hands and left hooks to offset his opponent. Lartey would throw hard shots of his own. In round five, Gorman appeared to hurt Lartey with a double jab that caused the Ghanaian to turn his back.
At the end, Gorman would take the decision by way of two cards of 100-90, and 99-92. He will need to be in better shape moving forward if he wants to earn serious consideration as a top contender.
