Dennis McCann And Hamzah Sheeraz Collect Standout Stoppage Wins!

On the undercard of the WBO Interim super middleweight title bout of Zach Parker versus John Ryder, Dennis “The Menace” McCann (14-0, 8KO) dominated Joe Ham (17-4, 6KO), winning the Commonwealth Super bantamweight title. In the co-main event, middleweight Hamzah Sheeraz (17-0, 13KO) ran down an overmatched River Wilson Bent (13-2-1, 6KO) in two quick rounds.

A LASER-FOCUSED MCCANN

The WBO #14-rated 21-year-old southpaw started the fight laser-focused, landing the jab in-between the guard of Ham. The Menace’s footwork and superior boxing skills were on point as he started picking up the pace, landing more hard jabs and straight left-hand body shots.

McCann found a home for the right uppercut while doing a good job cutting off the ring. In the eighth round, the talented young boxer landed a lighting bolt of a right uppercut! This was the beginning of the end as he attacked with a barrage of punches, forcing the referee to stop the contest. During the post-fight interview, McCann entertained a fight against Liam Davies.

SHEERAZ BRINGS THE POWER

From the sound of the bell, it was lion versus lamb as Sheeraz worked behind the jab like a sniper. He fought off the front foot beautifully, landing the right hand behind that blinding jab. The WBC silver titlist opened a cut below the left eye of Bent. Moreover, he went into attack mode heavily while coming forward and landing hard hooks to the body.

In round two, Sheeraz landed a counter right-hand that sent Bent reeling back into the corner. Realizing his opponent was ready to go, he turned up the heat and landed another right-hand that dropped Bent to one knee. Despite beating the count, the referee did not like the look of the challenger and stopped the fight. Sheeraz should look to fight someone ranked within the top 15 next
