Jessica McCaskill talks Cecilia Braekhus
Going into her undisputed title shot against long-reigning undisputed unbeaten welterweight champion Cecilia “First Lady” Braekhus (36-0, 9KOs), Jessica “CasKILLA” McCaskill (8-2, 3KOs) believes that Braekhus’ body is worn down.
MCCASKILL SEES A WEAKNESS!
“I think that definitely can be a factor, when it comes to fighters and the number of fights they’ve been through. I think that really tells their age. She has a lot of amateur fights, she has a lot of pro fights and her body’s worn down, and her body’s getting older. Me, I have a young boxing body. I’ve only had about twenty five amateur fights and ten pro fights, and so I’m still ready to go. My body still agile and powerful.”
At 38 years old, Braekhus definitely isn’t in her prime anymore. However, her advanced age hasn’t plagued her just yet. McCaskill, who holds the WBC and WBA junior welterweight titles, will be attempting to become a two-division world champion.
For Braekhus, she will be looking to make the tenth consecutive defense of her undisputed titles. The upcoming defense could be the toughest task of her title reign. If there is any slippage whatsoever in her performance, McCaskill will be the one looking to seize the opportunity and become the new women’s undisputed welterweight champion of the world.
The two will lock horns August 15 in Tulsa, Oklahoma which will be aired live on DAZN.
