Regis Prograis Chasing a Winter 2023 Match with Adrien Broner
It’s no secret that WBC super lightweight champion Regis “Rougarou” Prograis (29-1, 24 KO’s) wants to fight Adrien “The Problem” Broner (35-4-1, 24 KO’s). The two have verbally gone at one another’s throats for years via their social media accountants. At various times, it appeared that they may collide in the ring. Yet nothing has ever materialized. Now Prograis has utilized his Twitter fingers once again to try to entice The Problem into a duel.
THE LESSER OF TWO EVILS?
In all actuality, both Rougarou and Broner are coming off less than stellar performances. Prograis just stumbled through a choppy and lackluster win over Danielito Zorrilla, where he was technically dropped and buzzed on a few occasions. Likewise, after a sensational start, Broner huffed and puffed his way through a unanimous decision win over professional attorney Bill Hutchinson. To his credit though, The Problem had been out of the ring for two years before the Hutchinson scrap.
Perhaps it’s because he saw Broner look so vulnerable that Prograis is pushing for the match with AB. Rougarou also has the option to face undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney who is planning on moving up to super lightweight. If comparing the two, Broner does seem to be the lower hanging fruit in this equation. Yet, in the end, we will just have to wait and see what the next battle for Regis Prograis will be.
