Andy Ruiz Sr Prophesizes KO Win Against Luis Ortiz!
Technically speaking, one would view heavyweight fighter Andy “Destroyer” Ruiz (34-2, 22 KO’s) as the solid betting favorite heading into his September 4 dance date with Luis “King Kong” Ortiz (33-2, 28 KO’s). This is due to Ruiz, 32, having the much faster hands and being eleven years younger than Ortiz. Although, Destroyer is only one fight removed from his abysmal performance in his rematch with Anthony Joshua. Back on June 1, 2019, Ruiz shook up the world by stopping the then unified champion and usurping his titles.
Sadly, after literally getting fat and distracted by the luxuries of money, he lost his belts to Joshua in his first attempted title defense. Nearly two years after that shameful loss, Destroyer secured a lackluster win against well-over-the-hill veteran Chris Arreola. While he did get the nod, aside from not being impressive, Ruiz was hurt on multiple occasions.
ROUGHHOUSING
Despite these past three straight years of soggy prizefights, Ruiz’s father, Andy Ruiz Sr., has complete faith in his son. Going past mere victory, as Ruiz Sr. explained to Fight Hub TV, he believes that Destroyer will stop Luis Ortiz within the distance.
“We’re going to knock Luis Ortiz down, we are going to knock him down! Yeah, KO, we are going to knock him down!”
For his sake, Andy Ruiz better chew up and spit out King Kong in their upcoming duel. To submit another remedial fight would be an extremely bad look for him. A loss to the much older man would be the same as dragging a knife across his career’s jugular vein. So in many very real aspects this is a must-win for Ruiz. Yet, it would be even better if he could fulfill his father’s prophecy and stop the skillful Cuban!
