Claressa Shields Challenges Jake Paul and Shadasia Green
For her part, two-time Olympic gold medalist and undisputed middleweight champion Claressa “T-Rex” Shields (14-0, 2 KO’s) is riding high off of her last win. In that contest, on June 3, Shields took on and claimed a unanimous decision over Maricela Cornejo. Since that duel, the boxing world has been clamoring for T-Rex to take on rising contender Shadasia Green (13-0, 11 KO’s). Not only has the boxing world been talking about this pairing, Shields has stated her own willingness to square off. Yet, going a step further, Shields also called out social media sensation Jake Paul.
Now it would appear that T-Rex is looking to throw a few logs to the fire of this growing rivalry.

Neither of these call outs should come as a grand surprise. As already mentioned, Shields has made her willingness to face Green a known fact. In terms of challenging Jake Paul, T-Rex has consistently chased showdown with one-time welterweight champion Keith Thurman. In fact, Shields has called out numerous men over the years.
This is said to say that the Flint, Michigan native has no compunction about sliding through the ropes to tangle with a man. Also, to speak for her willingness to step off the beaten path, Shields left the ring to try her hand in mixed-martial arts. She split her results with one loss and one win. Given her insistence on signing a contract to fight Thurman, and now calling out Paul, it would stand to reason that Shields is determined to fight a man in the ring.
For the time being, we will just have to see what materializes with any and all of these would-be bouts. Yet, for practical purposes, the best bet would be on Shields locking horns with Green first. With that being said, there just is no telling what will happen next in the zany world of boxing.
