Talks of WBA Super Middleweight champion Callum Smith attempting to lure Andre Ward out of retirement has surfaced

Former super middleweight and light heavyweight unified champion Andre Ward may be considering a ring return. His manager and business partner has explored possible fights with undisputed cruiserweight Oleksander Usyk or WBA super middleweight champion Callum Smith.

It’s a bit eye popping that his team would look at Smith due to previous statements by Ward regarding his inability to make 168 pounds. Combine that with a two year layoff after comfortably settling in at light heavyweight and his statement becomes more realistic. As of now, Smith’s team has stated Ward is asking for too much money for his return.

Uysk and his team has been enthusiastically calling for a fight with Ward since becoming undisputed champion. This fight seems more feasible since moving up to cruiserweight would be easier on Ward. Additionally, it’s a fight that’s in high demand and both fighters can enhance their legacies if their victorious.

As of now very little is known outside of preliminary talks so we at 3kingsboxing.com will be following this story very closely.
