Frank Warren believes Anthony Joshua v Tyson Fury happens in August or September, not July!
Boxing fans all over the world are eagerly anticipating an announcement that a deal for unified heavyweight champion Anthony “AJ” Joshua (24-1, 22KOs) and WBC Heavyweight champion “The Gypsy King” Tyson Fury (30-0-1, 21KOs) has been signed and sealed! Yet, here we are still getting comments on everything else but the news of an agreement being terminado (finished). Yes, I understand that fights of this magnitude are not made overnight. However, I also know that constantly going to the media with “updates” is a form of pandering.
The latest to offer their update on the status of negotiations is none other than the co-promoter of Fury, Frank Warren. Speaking to Talksport.com, he stated his belief that the all-British throw-down would not take place until late August or September.

WHY THE POSSIBLE DELAY?!
According to Warren, the delay could be caused by Rob McCracken, who is set to be the head trainer of the Great Britain Olympic team. The Olympic Games are from July 23 to August 8. He also happens to be the trainer of Joshua. This is a sticky situation. On one hand, it had to be known that Joshua v Fury would more then likely clash with McCracken’s prior commitments to the upcoming British amateur hopefuls. On the other hand, why not just come out and say that the fight would not be happening until late August or September from the get-go?
I won’t go as far as saying this is a deal-breaker since there is no concrete deal in place anyway. However, it may quickly become one. Joshua has been with McCracken since the beginning. To not have his head man in his corner during the biggest fight of his career would be a grave mistake. Thus far, I just do not see that scenario happening, whatsoever.
It sounds like McCracken will have a tough choice to make. At this point, all parties involved need to shut the hell up and make the fight. No more updates are needed unless it is to announce a deal has been reached or negotiations have fallen through.
As it is, 3kingsboxing.com will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.
