William Zepeda Stops Luis Viedas in the Third!
In his most recent at bat, lightweight contender William “Cameron” Zepeda (25-0, 23 KO’s) plucked up his latest win. The Mexican native accomplished this by stopping Luis “Bofo” Viedas (29-12-1, 10 KO’s) in the third round of their dust-up. The win will further propel Zepeda, a Golden Boy promoted fighter, who has been gathering notable momentum in career lately. He has even earned the respectable ranking of #6 (WBO) and #6 (WBA). Armed with this most recent stoppage of Viedas, Cameron is sure to continue rising in the rankings.
QUICK AND SLOPPY
The bout got off to an odd start as just inside the first minute of the opening round, Viedas slipped in the ring and mildly hurt himself. Following a brief halt in the action, the two got back to it. When the action did resume, Bofo used most of the time to trot in the opposite direction of Zepeda. About a minute into the second round Viedas, who moved his upper body like an octopus on muscle relaxers, was dropped with a flurry. Then, shockingly Bofo dropped Zepeda with a hidden short shot along the ropes, although he got up without issue.
As soon as the action resumed, Bofo went down again but it was the result of a push. In fact Zepeda, was deducted a point for the infraction. Ultimately it made no difference. Within the first minute of the third, Viedas was back on his knee being charged with another knockdown after being felled by blows yet again. Despite getting to his feet a minute or so later, a left hook to the head put him down again, and for good this time. Even though it was an ugly win, Zepeda keeps his perfect record intact and continues rising in the ranks.
