Andrade Waiting on David Benavidez to Sign the Contract!
Within the super middleweight division, there is a potentially great fight looming between two-division champion Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade (32-0, 19 KO’s) and two-time 168-pound champion David “The Mexican Monster” Benavidez (27-0, 23 KO’s). Benavidez was previously closing in on a fight with Jaime Munguia when the latter boxer bowed out of negotiations. It was then that Boo Boo attempted to shimmy through that window of opportunity.
In the onset, it seemed like Andrade versus Benavidez would be an easy match to make as the two teams have displayed interest in facing the other for quite a while. Unfortunately for Andrade and the boxing public, it’s now being reported by Boo Boo that The Mexican Monster has yet to sign on the dotted line.
“I believe that if David Benavidez hurry up and signs this motherfucking contract, we’re going to see who is the best at 168. That’s what I believe. Call David Benavidez!”
NOT AGAIN!!!
For the sake of all parties involved, let’s hope that this prizefight makes it over the finish line because the two principal characters are some of the finest talents in the division. Not only this, Andrade has remained one of the most snake-bitten and avoided fighters in quite some time.
Since his tenure at super welterweight, the Olympian has never been able to compete against the cream of the crop in the various divisions he’s resided in. Therefore, it’d be a shame if this became yet another tale of “what could have been” for the Rhode Island native. No matter what the fate of this duel may be, stay tuned to 3Kings Boxing for all the latest breaking news.
