Adam Azim, Caroline Dubois, Zak Chelli, and Tyler Denny Dominate on Boxxer Card!
Junior welterweight prospect Adam Azim (8-0, 6KO) went the distance with ease against tough opponent Santos Reyes (12-1, 3KO). For the first time since his debut, Azim heard the final bell. He boxed beautifully with those fast hands, dropping Reyes with an overhand right in the second round. The rest of the fight was like a glorified sparring session as he ripped off two and three-punch combinations against an advancing Reyes. When the final bell sounded, all three judges scored had it 100-89. 3Kings Boxing agrees with the judges. Azim picked up the vacant WBA Continental title in the process and is turning into a prospect to be on lookout for in a stacked division.
ZAK CHELLI OUTWORKS ANTHONY SIMS JR TO AN EASY VICTORY
Super middleweight hopeful Zak Chelli (13-1-1, 6KO) walks away with a solid performance in victory over Anthony Sims Jr (23-1, 20KO). Sims Jr came out fast in the early rounds landing quick combinations, but the rest of the fight belonged to Chelli, who found a home for that overhand right. Chelli turned up the work-rate and mixed up the attack, working behind the jab to fend off the pressure of Sims down the stretch. Two judges had it 98-92, with one seeing it 99-92 in favor of the Chelli. 3Kings Boxing agrees with the first score. This was a solid victory for Chelli. He won the WBA Continental title and could land a spot within the top 15 in the rankings.
TYLER DENNY CRUISES TO A VICTORY BY OUTWORKING BRAD PAULS
BBBofC middleweight titlist Tyler Denny (16-2-3) maintained the title after turning away challenger Brad Pauls (16-1, 9KO). Although the champ did not score a knockout, his work rate was unbelievable. He controlled the fight with a quick pace and found a home for the straight left. Paul made a minor comeback toward the end of the fight, but the aggression and pressure of Denny wore him down in the closing rounds. Two judges saw it 97-93, with one having it 98-93 in favor of Denny. 3Kings Boxing had it a shut out 100-90 for Denny, who will now look to challenge for the English or Commonwealth title next.
CAROLINE DUBOIS MAKES QUICK WORK OF FERICHE MASHAURY
Lightweight prospect Caroline Dubois (6-0, 5KO) scored another quick stoppage over replacement Feriche Mashaury (10-8, 3KO) with ease. Dubois’ power was a factor from the sound of the bell as she landed hard body shots that had Mashaury in retreat mode. After scoring a knockdown in the second round, she turned up the offense by pummeling Mashaury in the corner with bombs and forcing the referee to stop the fight in the third round. During the post-fight interview, team Dubois expressed wanting to fight a top-quality opponent en route to a world championship.
