Haney grateful for advice from Mayweather
There’s no secret that WBC lightweight champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (24-0, 15KOs) and former five-division world champion and future Hall Of Famer Floyd “Money” Mayweather have developed a close bond.
Over the last few months, the two have been constantly in the gym together, with the legendary boxer helping Haney hone his skills. Videos and pictures have circulated all across social media. Mayweather, known for his outstanding defense and ring IQ, has put down the gloves for good and is now training fighters. While he’s not the trainer of Haney, that still hasn’t stopped him from passing down valuable knowledge.
Speaking to fighthype.com, Devin Haney expressed his gratitude for Mayweather.
“So many jewels, you know just being around him in the gym, him giving me certain things. It’s so many jewels and I’m thankful for it.”
It’s clear that these two guys who share the passion and love of hard work and dedication have meshed well. Haney has always exuded that professionalism and dedication. With Mayweather offering him some tricks of the trade, Haney, who’s already really good, could become the successor to the “money” man.
