Jaron Ennis Willing To Move Up to Challenge Spence and Crawford
IBF Interim welterweight champion Jaron “Boots” Ennis (30-0, 27KO) continues to want a fight with either unified champion Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr (28-0, 22KO) or WBO champion Terence “Bud” Crawford. Moreover, he is willing to go up to any weight class to fight either champion.
The boxing community was buzzing a week ago over a video clip that saw Ennis and Crawford (39-0, 30KO) exchange words on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast. Crawford claimed that Ennis never called him out, which sparked a heated discussion between both fighters.
ENNIS IS WILLING TO MOVE UP IN WEIGHT TO FIGHT SPENCE OR CRAWFORD
While speaking with YSM Sports Media, the Philadelphian revealed the first time he called out any of the top guys in the division.
“These boys are all cap man. Like I’ve said before, I’ve been calling these guys out. You know, probably since 2018 . . . those guys were at the top of the ranks, and I’ve been calling those guys out. Errol Spence, Bud, and Thurman, all those guys.”
Boots has been on record asking to fight any of the top guys on several occasions over the years. It’s believed that the winner of Spence-Crawford’s undisputed showdown may move up to junior middleweight. Ennis made it clear he is willing to go up in weight to make the fight.
“Yes, I will. Yes I will. It don’t matter where they at, it could be at 160, 168. It don’t matter, they got to see me, man.”
Boots is scheduled to defend the IBF Interim title against Roiman Villa in a high-stakes contest on July 8. The winner could potentially fight the undisputed champion or for the IBF world title.
