Shakur Stevenson Mulls Over Devin Haney Catchweight Offer

It is worth noting that Stevenson mentioned this before, about fighting one of the welterweight champions at a catchweight. It seems like that wish is bout to come true. In addition, they could be the first major boxing event under the Zuffa Boxing banner.

WILL THE FIGHT GET MADE THIS TIME ?

Matchroom Boxing chairman Eddie Hearn revealed that Stevenson was going to sign with Zuffa. This news took everyone by surprise as fans and pundits await an official announcement. The same has been said for Haney. His father, Bill Haney, dropped a cryptic message on social media. Ironically, both champions used to fight under Matchroom Boxing.

Already, fans and pundits have written articles and pumped out several videos with gleeful anticipation. However, this author would like to issue a hint of caution before going overboard. As of the writing of this article, Stevenson has yet to respond.

We have seen this movie before, where a fight was teased by these two only for it not to happen. Furthermore, agreeing to fight on social media means nothing, as we’ve seen several times in the past. Once talks of money, A-side perks, and location start happening, things often fall apart.
