Top Rank Pushing Devin Haney to Face Loma Later Than Demanded!

Undisputed lightweight champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (29-0, 15KO) is slated to face former unified champion Vasyl “Hi-Tech” Lomachenko (17-2, 11KO). However, he isn’t pleased with Top Rank’s targeted date for the fight and took to social media to vent his frustration.

The Dream is demanding the fight happen in March 2023 since making the 135-pound weight limit is getting hard. Top Rank is apparently pushing for May, but why? Are they trying to get Lomachenko another fight to better prepare him for Haney?

Many inside the boxing community felt the former unified champion did not impress in a return fight against contender Jamaine “The Technician” Ortiz on October 29. Loma was absent from boxing for close to a year while defending his country from the Russian invasion. Boxing conspiracists believe this is an attempt to get the Ukrainian another fight before facing Haney.

DEVIN HANEY WANTS TO FIGHT BEFORE RAMADAN

The Dream is at the top of his game following two dominant performances over former unified champion George Kambosos Jr. The Nevada resident made it look even easier in the rematch by effectively using the best punch in boxing – the jab.

Hany believes the delay is an intentional effort. The champion had already informed Top Rank that he wanted to fight before going into Ramadan.
