IBF Orders Negotiations To Begin Between Easter Jr & Commey

The two sides have till April 12th to negotiate

The International Boxing Federation has order for their lightweight champion Robert Easter Jr. to defend his title against Richard Commey.

This will be a rematch as Easter Jr won a controversial split decision over Commey for the then vacant IBF Lightweight Title back in 2016.

They have till April 12th to negotiate a contract or they will order a purse bid. Commey became the mandatory for Easter Jr. when he stopped Alejandro Luna Saturday night on Showtime Extreme.

Easter Jr was ringside Saturday night for Commey’s win over Luna but he was there hoping to generate a unification bout with WBC champion Mikey Garcia. Garcia was fighting in the main event against Sergey Lipinets for the 140lb IBF title.

3Kingsboxing.com will update the situation once we get more information from all parties involved.
