Jarrett Hurd and Jeison Rosario Take One Card Apiece
In a super middleweight showdown featuring former unified junior middleweight champions, Jarrett “Swift” Hurd (25-3-1, 17KO) vs Jeison “Banana” Rosario (24-4-2, 18KO) concluded with no winner.
Swift was a completely different fighter than fans had seen before as he boxed behind a supreme jab. In addition, he found a home for that sneaky uppercut when both fighters were in close. This looked to be an easy fight as Hurd went to work throwing good combination punches while Rosario seemed a little gun-shy. Yet, his jab vanished in the middle rounds, resulting in the fight becoming a semi-slugfest as both men landed thudding shots.
Banana came marching back with right hands and punishing body shots as the punch output of Hurd slowed down. He would continue having success on the inside as Hurd retreated to the ropes. Whenever Hurd used the jab and threw combination punches, he controlled the fight. However, he did it sparingly which created good moments for the Dominican.
With so much on the line, both men fought strong to the finish. Hurd hurt Banana with a body shot, but Rosario landed the more eye-catching punches. The fight ended in a draw as both fighters picked up a scorecard, with one judge scoring it even.
