Jermell Charlo Clarifies Mistaken Identity in Viral Slap Video

Undisputed junior middleweight champion Jermell “Iron Man” Charlo (35-1-1, 19KO) recently took to social media to address fans’ mistaken identity. The Texan expressed that it was his brother, WBC middleweight champion Jermall “Hit Man” Charlo (32-0, 22KO), appearing in the videos that went viral.

The videos in question depict Charlo pushing a female security guard and getting slapped by former IBF super middleweight champion Caleb Plant. While the video of the security guard incident went relatively unnoticed, the slap by Plant spread like wildfire across all social media platforms.

Adding to the confusion, fans were unsure which Charlo twin had been hit and were surprised by the apparent lack of reaction after the slap.

Frustrated with being wrongly tagged by fans, Iron Man posted a message clarifying that it wasn’t him in the videos.

The undisputed champion shocked the boxing community when he secured the fight with Canelo. Despite coming back from an injury that kept him out of action after claiming the undisputed crown in 2022, Iron Man remains extremely confident that he will emerge victorious on September 30.

Meanwhile, Hit Man has been sidelined since his victory over Juan Macias Montiel in June 2021 and has been dealing with personal and mental health issues. Jermall Charlo has assured his fans that he plans to make a comeback later this year, as he shared with members of the media.
