Keyshawn Davis Promises a Fun Fight with Miguel Madueno

In his second fight of the year, lightweight contender Keyshawn “The Businessman” Davis (10-0, 7 KO’s) is on a quest to continue proving his overall worth to the boxing fans! In that contest, Davis ranked #3 (WBO), #3 (IBF) and #3 (WBC), will face the challenge of Miguel “Explosivo” Madueno (31-2, 28 KO’s). Like Davis, Madueno, ranked #4 (WBO) and #11 (WBA), will also be staging his second match of the year.

Unlike the undefeated Davis however, Explosivo suffered a wide unanimous decision loss to Steve Claggett in his last duel of the 2023 calendar. The loss to Claggett was the second official blemish branded on his record. The first came in 2022, when he lost by another wide unanimous decision at the hands of Gregorio Molinero. For what it’s worth, on both occasions Madueno, was fighting on the road in his opponent’s home town.

EXTREME SEPARATION OR INFLATED EXPECTATION?

For his part though, Davis will enter the ring on the heels of his best career win – a sixth round knockout of veteran fighter Jose Pedraza. Due to this, The Businessman is sure to scrap with Explosivo brimming over with confidence. Going a step past talking about his high spirits, Davis shared with Sean Zittel he will better help demonstrate in brutal fashion why he is one of the best.

“I think it’s going to be a fun fight. It’s going to be a lot of punches being thrown, it’s going to be a very prideful fight. We are going to be fighting for the middle of the ring and who’s the stronger fighter. I’m not really looking to go there and doing a lot of moving. I’m going to stand right there with him. So we will see how tough he is when we get in there . . . I am not trying to prove something to him, but to the boxing world, for sure!”

There is no doubt that The Businessman will be the favorite heading into this affair. But like all boxers, he will have to back his tough words up on fight night. Yet, from the sound of it, it will be a treat to see if he can, win, lose or draw!
