Lindolfo Delgado Stays Undefeated By Defeating Bryan Flores
In a junior welterweight showdown, Lindolfo Delgado (22-0, 15KO) remained undefeated after scoring a split decision win over “Nino Maravilla” Bryan Flores (26-1-1, 15KO).
After a slow start in the first couple of rounds, Delgado picked up the pace by throwing more punches. In round three, he landed a clubbing counter hook high on the top of the head that floored Flores. After getting up off the canvas, Flores came marching back in the next few rounds by landing hard right hands. It seemed that knockdown woke something up inside Nino Maravilla as he attacked Delgado with ruthless aggression.
Over the next couple of rounds, both men were throwing bombs. Delgado found another gear and started landing uppercuts followed by hard shots to the body. Flores found a home for the overhand right, taking advantage of Delgado keeping his hands low. He also attacked the body but was deducted a point for a low blow in the seventh round.
Down the stretch, both men fought at a feverish pace, with so much on the line, leaving it all in the ring. In the end, one judge saw it 96-92 for Flores, as the other two saw it 96-92 and 95-93 in favor of Delgado, giving him the split decision victory.
