Raymond Muratalla Focused on Facing Vasyl Lomachenko!
In his latest tour of duty, lightweight boxer Raymond “Danger” Muratalla (21-0, 17 KO’s) kept his undefeated record intact. Muratalla accomplished this by defeating Zaur Abdullaev by sound unanimous decision. With the victory, Danger took possession of the interim IBF lightweight title. Now that he is armed with the title, Muratalla is officially the mandatory challenger for IBF 135-pound champion Vasyl “Hi-Tech” Lomachenko (18-3, 12 KO’s). Unsurprisingly, when questioned about what he wanted to do next, Danger was adamant that he wanted to pursue the fight with Lomachenko.
“Absolutely! I am the mandatory for him, that’s what we are looking forward to. It’ll be an honor to fight him, to have his name on my resume!”
Aside from the IBF champion, there are other potential big fights with various champions such as Keyshawn Davis (WBO), Shakur Stevenson (WBC) and Gervonta Davis (WBA). Despite these appealing match-ups looming in the background, Muratalla has tunnel vision for Lomachenko.
It will be interesting to see what becomes of this situation. This is mainly due to the fact that Hi-Tech has been out of action, and virtually completely out of the limelight, since his May 12, 2024 TKO win over George Kambosos. In fact, some have even speculated that Loma may eventually retire rather than step back in the ring. So, for the time being we’ll have to wait and see what Lomachenko does says before we know what’s next for Muratalla.
