O’Shaquie Foster Puts Raymond Ford on Notice with a Promise

It’s becoming increasingly clear that reigning WBC junior lightweight champion O’Shaquie “Ice Water” Foster and former WBA featherweight title holder Raymond Ford genuinely dislike one another. At this point, the only way to settle their differences is inside the ring.

Ford made his intentions known after scoring a victory over Abraham Nova in August 2025, openly targeting Foster’s 130-pound crown. What followed was a steady stream of social media back-and-forth that only intensified the brewing rivalry.

Tensions escalated further when both fighters were in attendance for Emanuel Navarrete’s 11th-round stoppage win over Eduardo Nunez to become a unified junior lightweight champion on February 28 in Mexico City, Mexico. The verbal exchange between Foster (24-3, 12 KOs) and Ford quickly turned heated, with “Ice Water” making it crystal clear how he envisions a potential showdown playing out.

“You be ready to get your ass whooped. You just be ready for that… I promise you, I’m going to beat your ass. I swear to God.”

TIME FOR TALKING IS OVER

Stylistically, Foster (24-3, 12 KOs) versus Ford shapes up as a near pick’em fight. Both are skilled, versatile boxers capable of adjusting mid-fight. Foster (18-1-1, 8 KOs) brings slick movement, ring IQ, and championship experience at 130 pounds. Ford counters with sharp timing, athleticism, and a chip on his shoulder as he looks to prove he belongs among the elite in a second weight class.

On paper, it’s one of the most compelling matchups in the division. Rumors continue to swirl that the fight could land in the spring or summer. With two high-end contenders colliding, the stakes are clear: the winner would be in prime position to call for a showdown with Navarrete in a potential unification bout.

All that remains is finalizing the deal. The animosity is real. The styles mesh perfectly. And for the junior lightweight division, it’s a fight that makes complete sense.
