Ryan Garcia Plans to Finish Gervonta Davis via Stoppage
The fight week festivities are on full display for an April 22 grudge match between reigning multi-divisional champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis (28-0, 26 KOs) and “King” Ryan Garcia (23-0, 19 KOs) at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Garcia fully believes that it’s going to be an explosive evening, as he’s looking to make sure Davis does not make it to the final bell.
Garcia has wanted to fight Tank for several years and talked about what he’s sacrificed to make the fight a reality. During a press event for the boxing media, he said all the hard work will be worth it once the bell rings.
NO DOUBT IN HIS MIND
Despite the back-and-forth trash talk, there’s mutual respect. But at the end of the day, both men want to knock each other’s heads off. When asked how he thinks the fight will go, Garcia said fans need to get their popcorn ready because he intends on making it a short night.
“Gervonta, he’s a great fighter. I want to make that very clear; he’s a great fighter. But he cannot stop what’s going to happen Saturday night; he’s not gonna stop it.
He may be a great fighter, but I’m just gonna have something that he cannot defeat . . . I want him to learn a good lesson after this victory . . . In a blink of an eye, it’ll be finished. That’s what’s gonna happen on April 22.”
Davis – Garcia is a battle that has gained the attention of the larger sports world. Both men bring plenty of power to the table and can end a fight with one shot. Many observers are optimistic it will live up to the hype. If it does, it will be a heck of a battle. Garcia is on a mission to give fans a night they will never forget.
