Yoel Angeloni Decisions Juan Campos Medina
In a battle that featured two undefeated junior middleweight prospects, Yoel Angeloni (4-0, 2KO) picked up the victory over Juan Campos Medina (3-1, 3KO).
After a lackluster first round that saw 2023 Trainer of the Year Brian “Bomac” McIntyre give his fighter a tongue-lashing, Angeloni finally got aggressive and landed hard body shots.
Medina was out to make it a dogfight with an awkward attack style. He landed solid shots before getting hurt from a counter hook. He was in retreat mode, trying to recover from taking a few hard shots over the next rounds.
Angeloni struggled with the physical aggressiveness of his opponent. However, he adjusted using the jab to set up the left hand and landed some decent counter shots that slowed Medina’s aggression.
In the last round, Medina fought with some urgency by getting up in the chest of the younger fighter with hard body shots. But, Angeloni found a home for the uppercuts and counterhooks.
When the bell sounded, two judges saw it 58-56, and one judge had it a ridiculous 60-54, in favor of Angeloni.
