Jaron Ennis is ready to become a unified champion by beating Eimantas Stanionis.

Ennis Is Extremely Confident Heading Into Stanionis Showdown

On April 12, IBF welterweight champion Jaron “Boots” Ennis (33-0, 29 KOs) will clash against WBA champion Eimantas Stanionis (15-0, 9 KOs). Outside of the defense and a new trinket, Ennis wants to reaffirm his claim as the king of the division. Following the exodus of former champions Errol Spence Jr and Terence Crawford, Boots seemingly inherited the division.

During an interview with YSM Sports Media, he was extremely candid about the upcoming showdown.

“It’s a blessing to finally get what I want and what I deserve, this is what I have been asking for, and I finally got it, and he is a top guy. I’m #1, he is #2. We are doing things in the division the other guys didn’t want to do. So, I am excited and can’t wait to bring back two more belts.

Yet after having a tough time with Karen Chukhadzhian than expected many detractors were provided just enough elbow room to begin poking holes. Ennis is no longer blindly or uniformly recognized as the man to beat.

SHOW AND PROVE

Boots and Stanionis have flirted with facing one another for some time. Sadly, in vexing fashion for the fighters and the fans, until now, the duel never materialized. While this is lightyears away from a crossroads fight there are still major implications. Naturally, the Philadelphian has more at stake against the Lithuanian.

Aside from his strap, he is by far the more popular and established fighter. A loss now, with so much speculation in the air, and to a foreigner would be a costly blow. At the same time, a win for Stanionis would be revolutionary to his career and public persona. Unsurprisingly, Boots is up for the challenge and confident his hand will be raised as the victor.
