Campbell v Garcia deal reached

A few weeks after the WBC mandated two-time world title challenger Luke “Cool Hands” Campbell (20–3, 16KOs) and Ryan Garcia (20-0, 17KOs) to meet for the interim WBC lightweight title, a deal between the two has reportedly been agreed to. This information all comes along with news of the postponement of the scheduled purse bid.

Campbell, a 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist is 0-2 in world title fights. He came up short against Jorge Linares (47-5, 29KOs), losing by split decision back in September of 2017. More recently, he lost against Vasyl Lomachenko (14-1, 10KOs) in August of 2019.

Garcia, a rising prospect, has dazzled fans and boxing purists with his tremendous hand speed and power which have resulted in some highlight reel knockout wins. Fans have called for him to step up his competition. This fight with Campbell, a proven and very dangerous threat to his unbeaten status, will more than satisfy the call.

As of now the fight has no date. However, the target date will be for late November in either the U.S or the U.K.
