Nothing but Respect heading into Charlo v Rosario

In just under a month, PBC will air a very exciting and competitive double-feature pay-per-view event. On September 26, half of that unique double-header will see WBC world super welterweight champion Jermell “Iron Man” Charlo (33-1, 17 KO’s) face WBA and IBF world super welterweight champion Jeison “Banana” Rosario (20-1-1, 14 KO’s). The high stakes unification bout is expected to be an all action affair.

LION VERSUS LION

As we continue to barrel toward fight night, it is evident that both pugilists harbor a great deal of respect for the other. When questioned on his thoughts regarding Rosario during a recent virtual round-table, Charlo made it clear that he holds the Dominican in high esteem.

“That’s a man that fights, just as well as me. I’m a man that fight. I am ready to go twelve rounds if I have too. If he don’t make twelve rounds, you know why.”

“I can’t boost myself up, that’s not what it’s about. It’s not about me boosting myself, it’s about being that lion that I am and you put me in that cage and let’s see what happens. Y’all say that I have another lion in front of me, now we going to figure it out.”

THE NEXT BIG MOMENT

When given his opportunity to speak on the matter, Rosario opted to highlight his overall appreciation of the moment and the opportunity to be great on a grand stage.

“Of course this fight signifies a lot for me. It’s the most important fight so far in my career and basically I am very thankful to my trainer. I am thankful for the opportunity that’s been given to me to fight the best in this division and that is where we stand at. This is a great moment for me. Some people think I might not win, some people might think it’s going to a boring fight. I know it’s going to be an electric fight, so we just have to tune in on September 26.”

Regardless of the ultimate victor, there is little to no chance that this will be lackluster event!
