Dillian Whyte Continues To Call For The Rematch With Anthony Joshua
Dillian “The Body Snatcher” Whyte (29-3, 19KO) and two-time unified champion Anthony “AJ” Joshua (25-3, 22KO) are two fighters who will always be at odds with one another. They can’t help but take verbal shots at each other.
Once again, the two are at odds over talks of a potential rematch. Joshua has been out of the ring since a unanimous decision win over Jermaine Franklin on April 1. Word on the street is the former unified champion wants to return to the ring in August. Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn hinted that the opponent could be Whyte, who also defeated Franklin prior to Joshua.
But the former world champion posted a now-deleted post on social media to claim that there have been no discussions about a second fight with Whyte. The Body Snatcher replied with the following message to AJ on social media:
WE’VE BEEN HERE BEFORE
Joshua and Whyte fought in December 2015, with the former unified champion winning by a seventh-round stoppage. Their fight was an exciting battle that saw both men hurt each other.
AJ has won multiple world titles and became one of the more high-profile athletes in the world. Meanwhile, Whyte spent a long-time in the WBC mandatory position.
In 2019, Whyte thought a rematch would happen only to be left disappointed and frustrated when it did not. These two fighters need to settle this in the ring once and for all.
