Unified Champ Collazo To Unquestionably Defeat Jesus Haro
On March 13, Oscar “El Pupilo” Collazo (13-0, 10 KOs) will defend his unified WBA and WBO minimumweight titles against Jesus Haro (13-3, 2 KOs) at the Honda Center in Anaheim. When it’s all said and done, the champion should leave the ring with both titles comfortably wrapped around his waist.
ON A ROLL
Collazo has been dominant in his recent outings. After winning the WBO title in May 2023, he became a unified champion at 105 pounds with a seventh-round knockout over Knockout CP Freshmart in November 2024. In the minds of many pundits, that victory cemented Collazo’s status as the best fighter in the division.
He’s facing a Haro who, during pre-fight interviews, has said he’s ready to take advantage of the opportunity of a lifetime. A decorated amateur, the 23-year-old is not without skill. Haro will look to fight to his full potential against one of the sport’s more formidable current world champions.
THE FINAL ANALYSIS
This is a contest that has all the makings of a showcase opportunity for the defending champion. Collazo simply has more tools in his arsenal and is the far bigger puncher. Most importantly, he’s riding a strong wave of confidence and momentum.
Look for Haro to give his all. However, in the end, Collazo appears superior in nearly every facet of the game and should retain his titles by either a wide decision or a late-round stoppage.
