David Benavidez Has No Plans On Warming to Caleb Plant After Fight Night

Two-time WBC super middleweight champion David “Red Flag” Benavidez (26-0, 23KO) is soon to face former IBF champion Caleb “Sweethands” Plant (21-1, 12KO). With bitter rivalries such as theirs, the fans get an entertaining fight, then the fighters bury the hatchet with a show of true sportsmanship when its all over. However, Red Flag is not willing to follow this script with Sweethands.

The rivalry between these two former champions goes back to 2019, when both guys were champions in the division. Their upcoming clash in the ring had been brewing for a long time. Boxing fans were excited when the announcement dropped that they would finally meet to settle things in the ring.

BENAVIDEZ IS NOT GOING TO BURY HATCHET

Make no mistake about it, the animosity between these two guys is as real as it gets. During the interview with Fight Hype, Red Flag made it clear there is no letting bygones be bygones.

“It’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when and I’m definitely gonna hurt Caleb Plant, and I will enjoy every second of it.”

“I’m never going to bury the hatchet. No . . . there’s just people in life you’re not gonna like, you’re not going to get along with. After the fight, we get a handshake, but that’s it, but even that’s pushing a little too far. I don’t want anything to do with that guy at all after I beat his ass.”

Boxing fans are eager to see this fight as both men promise to dish out serious pain to the other. The fireworks will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena live on Showtime Pay-Per-View in Las Vegas, Nevada, Saturday, March 25.
