One-time WBO featherweight champion Robeisy Ramirez (14-2, 9KO) scored a sensational knockout against Brandon “Leoncito” Benitez (21-3, 9KO).

Ramirez was laser-focused and fought like a fighter who knew he was levels above Leoncito. He controlled the fight with the jab and those good countershots.

In addition, he did a good job of mixing up the attack before sliding to the angle and then landing more shots. Benitez did land good body shots, taking advantage of Ramirez admiring his work.

As the fight continued, the Cuban couldn’t miss with the left hand as his accuracy was on point. He hit the Mexican repeatedly with countershots that had Benitez’s face looking like it had been through a meat grinder.

In round seven, Ramirez landed a picture-perfect uppercut that put Benitez on the canvas that ended the fight. With the opportunity to rematch WBO champion Rafael Espinoza, he scored a statement-making knockout. During the post-fight interview, Ramirez expressed wanting the rematch but was open to a fight with top contender Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington.
