Should Ryan Garcia Take a Tune-up Before a 2023 Bout with Tank?
After years and years of back and forth trash talk throughout social media, it appears that multi-division champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis (27-0, 26KOs) and former WBC interim 135-pound champion Ryan “King Ry” Garcia (23-0, 19KOs) will finally fight!

ALL SIDES AGREED?
Davis and Garcia have both announced the fight on their personal social media accounts. According to both men, the fight will take place in Las Vegas in 2023. April is the target for the fight, according to ESPN. Although, while both men say the deal is done, it appears it’ll have to wait until Davis takes a tune-up fight in January.
TANK TAKING A TUNE UP, DOES GARCIA NEED TO AS WELL?
Davis announced that he first plans to return to the ring on January 7 against an opponent to be determined. That brings this writer to wonder if Garcia should follow his rival’s actions and do so as well. Obviously there is risk involved in staging an interim bout for either fighter. The possibility of either guy losing or sustaining an injury prior to their match is real. It’s quite clear that both men will want to be as sharp and on point as possible ahead of this potentially huge matchup!
