Rumors have started flying that retired former pound for pound kingpin Floyd “Money” Mayweather (50-0, 27ko) was approached about fighting YouTube celebrity Logan “The Maverick” Paul (0-1). The boxing community is torn between those who did not have a problem and those who felt it would make a mockery of the sport. Well, it seems that Golden Boy Promotions top lightweight prospect Ryan “Kingry” Garcia (20-0, 17ko) is up to his old shenanigans again. He took to social media to call out “The Maverick” brother and fellow YouTube celebrity turned fighter Jake Paul (1-0).

NOT NEW TO THE GAME

Now, this is not the first time the talented lightweight has called for fights with someone outside of the sport. During the COVID-19 lockdown over the summer, he got into an intense beef with former UFC two-divisional champion Henry Cejudo (16-2, 8ko).

Garcia made it clear during an ESPN interview that a fight with the former champion would not be much of a challenge.

“I think that would be the easiest fight I’ve ever had in my life, I am not even kidding.”

Next was another MMA, fighter Dillion Danis.

This one got intriguing, especially when the MMA fighter suggested he would retire if the boxer beat him. “Kingry” responded to the challenge with a mic dropping clap back.

“I had no clue who you were! So I guess you have a career, so I guess I’ll retire your career.”

So as you can see, the talented lightweight boxer isn’t afraid to go looking for the smoke with anyone inside or outside of boxing. However, the YouTube celebrity had a clap back of his own. He hinted at handing Garcia his first defeat and the verbal attacks kept coming from there.

Although all of this is amusing, the undefeated lightweight is hopefully staying focused for the bout against former title contender Luke Campbell (20-3, 16ko). Furthermore, there is a lot at stake, considering they are fighting for the WBC Interim title and a crack at the champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (24-0, 15ko).
