Caleb Plant’s trainer knows fight with Canelo will be a hand full!

As Saturday, November 6 quickly approaches, so is the time to put up or shut up for both unified super middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (56-1-1, 38KOs) and IBF Champion Caleb “Sweethands” Plant (21-0, 12KOs). While the fighters are the main focus, and rightfully so, they’re not the only determining factor in whether they win or lose.

The outcome also falls on the trainer. This is biggest fight for Plant and he and his team are extremely confident of victory. However, they’re not naïve enough to think this won’t be by far the biggest and toughest challenge of Plant’s career.

Speaking to Fight Hub TV, Justin Gamber, trainer of Plant, acknowledged the difficulty of this fight and stressed being versatile as the key to victory.

PLANT’S TRAINER KNOWS THEY HAVE TO BE VERSATILE TO BEAT CANELO!

“We can not do anything one way. Like I was saying up there, when you fight the pound for pound best, you have your hands full. Regardless whether it’s Lomachenko, Terence Crawford, when you fight one of these guys, they’re legit you know. I mean you better be ready and we are ready, but we know that we have to do different things with our strategy, our fighting ability, in order to come out on top in this fight.

He can’t fight one way, that’s too predictable against a guy like this. So yeah, we know that we need to mix it up.”

From the comments made by Justin Gamber, it appears that they have left no stone unturned, as they implemented a game plan that will hopefully, for them, see them to victory. They also brought in Hall Of Famer and former two-division world champion and 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist Andre Ward for some tips and pointers.

Primarily viewed as a athletic boxer, Plant knows he’s going to have to be well-rounded come fight night. Which he has alluded to by stating he’s going to be up in his Mexican rival’s face once the bell rings. Balance is key in everything you do, especially in competition. Can Plant box and fight his way into the history books? Come November 6, we all are going to find out.
